Across the country, the Y helps people give back and assist their neighbors by offering them opportunities to volunteer, advocate and support programs that strengthen community. The generosity of others is at the core of the Y’s existence as a nonprofit.
17th Annual Little General Soccer Classic
The Little General Soccer Classic is held each year in honor of Darrell Moore, who was a YMCA youth soccer coach and was one of the individuals that helped launch the girls soccer program in the Beckley area. Darrell passed away too early in his life, but he left behind a program that continues to develop successful female players both on and off the field. The tournament, made possible by Little General, includes boys and girls teams from West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, North Carolina and Tennessee and is held at the YMCA Paul Cline Memorial Youth Sports Complex.

Driving Social Responsibility
The generosity of others is at the core of the Y’s existence as a nonprofit. It is only through the support of our hundreds of thousands of volunteers and public and private donors that we are able to support and give back to the communities we engage.
