Spirit Of Beckley

Since its inception in 1987, the Spirit of Beckley has been the largest fundraiser of the year for the YMCA. Donations made in honor of the Spirit of Beckley recipient directly benefit the Y’s youth programs. The impact of the campaign over the last 36 years is in the numbers.

The YMCA of Southern West Virginia is proud to honor The Turner Family as the 37th recipient of the Spirit of Beckley Community Service Award. The award is given each year to an individual, or family, who has, throughout their lives, selflessly worked to enrich our area and positively affect the lives of the people that reside here. Their leadership and dedication of time and resources is exhibited without the expectation of recognition, for the personal satisfaction comes privately and without notice. By the very definition, The Turner Family exemplifies what the Spirit of Beckley is all about – their dedication to making our area a better place to work, live and play.
